Kenichi ASANO solo exhibition “Void in City”
L Gallery will be holding Kenichi Asano's solo exhibition "Void in City" from March 28th (Tuesday) to April 2nd (Sunday), 2023. This series received high acclaim at the Hong Kong art fair, and this will be the first solo exhibition of all the works in Hiroshima. Please come and visit us.

About the event
｜Artist statement｜
"We don't see what's right in front of us right now. The buildings and streets that make up a city are constantly updated, making it difficult to remember what was there originally. Like digital media, our memories are no longer synchronized with the city that has been overwritten, and like a fading photograph, the images in our memories become vague. Inside historical monuments and cities that embody the collective memories of people who experienced things in the past, VOID exists in a dimension different from what we see with our eyes today. I feel like I am. The works in the "Void in City" series universally express people's common memories and cognitive landscapes. On the other hand, by visually blocking the object, I paradoxically bring its existence to light, and I want to question the meaning of memories that should be inherited."
