Pause… Pause, interruption, break, interlude, pause, silence, stop, think, hesitate
For me, who has learned a little about sculpture and video, I have recently come to feel that the medium of painting is a "dense pause". It's as if you're cutting out a moment, and it always contains more or less time before and after, and it feels like it's shaking subtly.
This exhibition will be my first solo exhibition in Hiroshima. For more than 10 years, portraiture has been the main focus of my production. This time, I would like to select a work that suits the space of L Gallery and reconstruct it.
Everyone has been forced to "pause" many times, but I hope this exhibition will be a good "breathing" for someone.
